Ocean Wilderness is just 30 miles from Victoria and 10 minutes past the village of Sooke yet is on the very edge of the west coast wilderness so there are many trails to hike and beaches to explore. The Juan de Fuca hiking trail is 45 kms long and has 4 trailheads. The world famous West Coast Trail starts at Port Renfrew a 45 minute drive. The Galloping Goose, the old rail line from Victoria, is a wonderful biking trail. East Sooke Park has 3000 acres of forested trails. There are many pristine beaches to explore for day adventures. Our area is world famous for sports fishing and charters are easily arranged. Orca whales are ever popular and eco-conscious tour operators offer viewing trips all spring and summer. Sheringham lighthouse is about 10 minutes by car from the inn. The local artisans offer a variety of works at many home studios.
Accommodations
We are located on five acres of ocean front rain forest and have beautiful gardens surrounding the inn. The hot tub in the Japanese gazebo is popular with all. Deer, eagles, bluejays, raccoons, even bear have been spotted on the property. The historic log dining room has many interesting antiques and indian artifacts.
Rooms/Suites
Our nine beautifully appointed, luxury rooms feature either king or queen size canopied beds complete with cozy down comforters. Some have romantic in-room soaker tubs for two. All have antique furnishings, private baths and showers, terry robes, box fridges, sitting areas and private entrances. Each offers fabulous views:ocean and mountain or forest and landscaped gardens. Several have skylights, private balconies or patios.
Services Offered
A tray of coffee/tea is delivered to guest's doors in the morning and is followed by breakfast in their room or in the dining room with the other guests. We have an on-site spa which offers the following services: various types of massage, seaweed or mud wrap, clay facial, manicure, pedicure, herb body soak with seasalt glow.

Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Pets are welcome with a $15 nightly charge.

Map & Directions
Ocean Wilderness is located 30 miles (45 kms) west of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Take exit # 10 off Hwy. # 1 north and continue on to the village of Sooke. Go through the only traffic light in the village and continue for 8 1/2 miles (14 kms). NOTE: street numbers on this road stop at 10,000 and re-start at 100, just before Ocean Wilderness.
