Tucked into the historic Civil War towns of middle Tennessee are a number of most interesting attractions. Whether you are interested in country music, rock festivals, foothills crafts, or drama there is something for everyone in middle Tennessee. Jack Daniels Distillery, Wartrace annual Liberty Gap Civil War Re-enactment, Shelbyville horse shows, or Bonnaroo Manchester's annual rock festival are wonderful examples of the exhuberance of the people of this area.

As you approach the inn from Murfreesboro Highway you notice how the historical tower rises above modern buildings surrounding it. Pink dogwoods and magnolias accent the entire boundary of the gardens. In spring plants begin to emerge and fill the yard with a colorful bouquet. But year round the broad side porch invites long chats or a game of checkers or chess. Once you open the door to enter the inn you will see why Carol Gist fell in love with her Tower House. A warm peaceful welcome fills its rooms which are appointed with comfortable Victorian antiques.

Rooms/Suiteskeyboard_double_arrow_up
The Americana is on the main floor. Red Americana toile is the most vibrant feature of this room. A civil war period bed dressed with Laura Ashley bedskirt and hand pieced quilt complement the theme. The room has a working fireplace with EastLake mantel. The attached bath contains an antique clawfoot tub but modern plumbing and all in wonderful upkept condition. Many say this room is their favorite before they see the rest of the house. Upstairs two more rooms are available. The John P. Adams Suite is a two room sleeping quarters. The exterior of the two rooms is dressed for a child. It contains a gorgeous twin bed which has been in Carol's family for almost two hundred years. Being passed from heir to heir it once belonged to Carol's aunt Robie Ragland who was the wife of C. B. Ragland once the 10th most successful private businessman in America. Old time children's amusements are sure to attract the attention of little ones (including parlor croquet!). The main room of this suite is just to the right of this room. It contains a queen size bed with 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and EastLake headboard. Also in this set of rooms are two antique rockers for private time in this romantic suite. The attached bath contains a clawfoot tub with shower surround and lace curtains. A final upstairs room is available which shares the bath of the John P. Adams suite. This room was once the boys' room at the inn when Mr. Adams first built the house. It is decorated in pinks and blues. Gorgeous wallpaper is set off by a blue wedding ring quilt, Ralph Lauren sheets and pink petit point cushion. It is wonderful beyond words. The upstairs will sleep 5 persons total!
