Guesthouse Zakaria is located in historical part of Hvar town â€" conveniently near to all events, though up the hill in a quaint pedestrian area. Itâ€Â™s a good spot to meet other travellers...
We have a spacious communal terrace with basic cooking facilities plus Wi-Fi.
Most rooms include either a ceiling fan or air conditioning. We offer basic rooms and budget-oriented accommodation.
Our multilingual staff welcome you to our traditional stone-built house, surrounded by gardens in a homelike ambiance.
Shops, restaurants and the nearest beach are all around the corner...
Connections from mainland:
Split - Hvar Town; most convenient way by catamaran- departing at 11:30, 15:00 and 17:00. Buy the tickets as soon as possible. Alternately you can take a ferry to Stari Grad (only recommended if departing after 17:00) where you catch a shuttle to Hvar town - hurry to the bus, which is much cheaper than a taxi.
From Dubrovnik to Split is a very reliable connection by bus (approximately every 2 hours)
From Town of Hvar port to our guesthouse is a 5 minute walk: -Turn left as you get off the boat and walk along the harbor for about 80 meters until the Pizzeria Mama Leona. Take the narrow footpath to the left of Mama Leona, from where a pedestrian lane goes straight up the hill. As soon as you pass a small pedestrian lane, start to climb the steep flower-decorated stairs for about 50 meters (51 steps). At the top of these stairs take a left, then a hard right and continue walking up (about 30 meters/22 steps). Turn left again (five meters) and then take another hard right and continue climbing another 30 meters (19 steps) until you reach a plateau. From here you will see an abandoned house which splits the staircase. Take the steps on the left and walk up final 30 meters (or 31 steps) to a plateau (Put Sv. Mikule 6) and you will find a black metal gate on your right just after a small garden. Welcome!
From the bus station to our guesthouse:
Head for the main square (about 50m). Once you're there cross the tower and the church front to the other corner of the square. Turn left again and go into a narrow alley (pedestrian street) flanking the church. Take the first set of steps on your right, up to the tapas restaurant Konoba Luviji. Continue walking up another 10 meters past this restaurant, keeping it on the right. Soon you'll face a wall with a big tree above it. Take the narrow steps to the right of the wall and follow these steep steps (3 flights) around the tree until you reach the top. Turn left into the street then take the first set of stairs on your right (Sime Dujmovica). Follow this steep staircase to the top end of it, where you'll reach a plateau facing our house (Put Sv. Mikule 6). Turn a bit to the right and walk a few meters to a black metal gate -welcome!
