There are 3 accommodation types: 1887 historic hotel rooms, private residences and park residences . The rooms and suites of the historic resort are each unique in design and location, all with authentic antique furnishings, original coral stone walls, spectacular views, and elegant four-poster beds . While The Crane remains steeped in Barbadian history, the private residences offer 21st century conveniences and amenities . Ground floor suites feature infinity edge private pools, while some one and two-bedroom residences on the upper floors feature individual plunge pools . In addition to this, The Crane offers four excellent dining options . L'Azure Restaurant, which offers contemporary Caribbean & International cuisine and is well known for its fresh seafood and amazing ocean views . Zen, rated as "No . 1 for Food in Barbados" by Zagat, offers classic Thai and Japanese cuisine in an authentic setting, D'Onofrio's Pizzeria which is located in the Crane Village offers casual family style Italian fare and Carriage House Restaurant & Bar offers casual poolside favourites . On site, guests can also enjoy The Crane Village which features retail outlets, a photo studio and a state-of-the-art fitness centre . PLEASE READ: Our usually pristine Crane Beach has been affected by large deposits of brown seaweed, called Sargassum . This naturally occurring phenomenon is also affecting the entire south coast of Barbados, as well as other islands in the Caribbean . In our efforts to ensure our guests are as comfortable as possible, we have implemented several measures to lessen the impact of the seaweed: Guests are offered a complimentary beach shuttle service to an alternate beach when they are significant deposits of seaweed on the beach . Seaweed is cleared from beach by a small tractor . This is done early in the morning before the majority of guests are on the beach . Our landscaping team also assists on a daily basis . We cannot predict when the seaweed will appear or disappear however we will continue to work assiduously to control it as far as it is humanly possible .
