The hostel that everyone can and does recommend! Yes, it's The Adventure Brew Hostel, the first real backpacker hostel to open in La Paz!

The Adventure Brew Hostel's newly renovated main building is dedicated to dorm beds, and just 100m down the road the original building (the Adventure Brew Bed and Breakfast, listed separately here on HostelWorld) is focused on private rooms. These two buildings were created to give you, the adventure traveler, a friendly and fun base from which to plan your explorations of Bolivia, take a break from your travels, meet other travelers, or just recharge your batteries before heading out for further adventures. We have pulled together the best ideas over the years from travelers just like you and put about everything a backpacker could want from a hostel under one roof while providing the added bonus of FULL ACCESS to the facilities down the road in the B&B.

In the Adventure Brew Hostel itself we have a wide range of dorm rooms of all sizes with great communal bathrooms with lots of hot gas-powered showers. All our dorms have one backpack-sized secure locker for every bed (bring your own padlock). There are also small security lockers in the office in both buildings under 24-hour camera surveillance.

After having a good night's sleep you can enjoy a free All-U-Can-Eat pancake breakfast with coffee or tea. Or, if you are in mood for something else, have a look at our special breakfast menu, full of yummy treats at reasonable prices. Our sunny rooftop terrace has stunning views over the city, while our glassed-in courtyard offers a great hang-out area should the weather be less than perfect. Just next to the courtyard is our ground-floor bar, the 'Venture Underground Bar,' which has a pool table and TV with DVD player, which is free to use, pumping tunes, fun bar staff, our famous Saya Beer microbrew beer on tap, and much more! In the B&B building just down the road our rooftop 'Sky Bar' also serves a wide variety of drinks, has cable and Internet TV for live sports events, and has great views of the city. Also, dinner is served every night at 7:30. The menu varies on a daily basis, so check the whiteboard to see what's on for today. Most nights we have fun social activities planned in either or both of the bars, so make sure to check into our Facebook page or ask at reception about what's going on.

There are hot tubs at the B&B building rooftop terrace! They are available 24 hours a day -- just make an appointment at reception beforehand. We also organize daytime social activities on a regular basis, like city tours, a brewery tour, and group excursions. And remember, there's no curfew and no lockout, so you can party 'til you drop and know you can get back in to your room whatever the hour!

Other services we provide are reliable, fast, free internet on computers in both buildings as well as free Wi-Fi in both the 'Venture Underground Bar' and the 'Sky Bar' and a CD burner to backup your photos (blank CDs available for purchase, no extra charge to burn CDs). You can get your clothes washed through our laundry service. In the winter time you can borrow hot water bottles to warm up your bed. You can get new reading material for a long bus ride in our free book exchange, as well as purchase guide books. We can break big notes into smaller change and US$ to Bolivianos during normal office hours. As an added convenience we have a bank right here in our building; they can do credit card advances, money exchange, and much more in a safe environment. There are also special deals on awesome Adventure Brew Hostel and Saya Beer t-shirts, plus fun ways to win these great t-shirts!

All this and much more is provided by our friendly, helpful international and local staff, most of whom speak English. We are happy to help you with free traveler information and insider tips. Plus, Kanoo Tours, a full-service English-speaking Travel Agency is located right inside our hostel. They are the official agency for Gravity Assisted Mountain Biking tours down The World's Most Dangerous Road as well as much much more.

Due to the size of the hostel we are often able to let you check in as early as 8 am (worst case if we need to clean and prepare your bed check-in would be at or before 2 pm). If you arrive early and want to hang out we can store your backpack and you can use all the facilities of both buildings. We've also put the check-out time as late as possible: 1 pm. If your bus or flight leaves late in the evening, feel free to leave your luggage in our free baggage storage during the afternoon and continue to use our facilities.

The Adventure Brew Hostel welcomes you to enjoy our facilities and make new friends in a safe, fun, clean environment, and we'll bend over backwards to ensure that your stay with us is unforgettable. The Adventure Brew Hostel's emphasis is on providing a fun social environment, always offering opportunities to meet new people while still giving you the opportunity to get a good night's sleep should you have early morning travel and adventures planned.
