We offer nine independent wooden cabins and two brand new apartments for families or groups. All are set on a hill, which ensures every one of them has a breathtaking view of Lake Atitlan, while being hidden and private from the rest of the hotel. Our rooms are decorated in a simple yet hip style, with Mayan woven materials and naïf paintings.
Sunrise, sunset, midday or midnight, our lakeside lounge is the perfect place to sunbathe, go swimming, sip on a cocktail or a fresh fruit smoothie or just take in the majestic beauty of Lake Atitlan. Prefer a more secluded, private spot? You´ll find hammocks and loungers tucked into lush nooks all throughout our beautiful tropical gardens, and a wonderful yoga studio overlooking the lake which is free for our guests to enjoy.
The patio below our slow-food restaurant is the ultimate spot to feast your eyes and your senses; come and enjoy what according to many- Rough Guide amongst others-is some of the best food you can find in Guatemala. Dine with the ultimate view, or just chill out and read a book. If you feel like lying around the patio next to the restaurant is stocked with pillows and cushions. Make yourself at home!
From Guatemala City or Antigua there are lots of shuttle services covering the route to Panajachel, the main town in Lake Atitlan. Please let us know if you need us to book one for you, we work with both private or shared shuttle services from most main destinations in Guatemala.
Once you arrive at Panajachel you just need to get to the Tzanjuyu dock, where all the boats leave for San Pedro, San Marcos and Santa Cruz (everybody knows this dock and any travel agency will drop you there). Once at the dock take a public taxi boat (10Q or 1,2US per person) to Santa Cruz -20 min ride leaving every 15 to 30 minutes from 6am till 7.30pm-. Just make sure you ask the driver to drop you at ISLAVERDE PRIVATE DOCK, where you can leave the luggage for us to take care of it, well, and of everything else!
Panajachel is the most usual entrance to Lake Atitlan, but some travel agencies might give you the option of leaving you in San Pedro or Santiago, from either one of these there are public taxi boats leaving to Santa Cruz every 30 minutes.
Once here you will be able to visit the all the other towns at the Lake by public boat -just need to flag one down from our dock- or we can arrange private boat hires -with or without captain, depending on sailing skills-. Guided tours and treks are also available at our desk.
