Vuna valley borders the Umtamvuna river and nature reserve and is 8 minutes from a number of great beaches. The reserve offers 259 bird species as well as 7 hiking trails and world renowned trees and plants.
Activities include mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, diving, horse riding, fishing, golf and off road excursions. The coast offers a number of great surfing spots at protected beaches.
A great place to relax or take part in some energy sapping hikes and rides.

Vuna Valley Ventures is a 5 min drive from Port Edward and the beaches and we are situated 50m from the entrance to the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve and the River, which borders the Wild Coast/Pondoland which makes this an ideal spot to relax and experience great outdoor activities.
A free canoe ride up the river gorge or hike x 7 hiking trails with spectacular views, mountain bike hire/trails, horse riding on the beach, whale and dophin spotting excursions, Big 5 jump and swing, and great beaches for swimming and surfing. Support our 2-5 day guided community hike into the Wild Coast.
June - July we have great weather plus the internationally famous Sardine Run, where huge shoals of sardines reaching 4klm in width and 15klm in length enters the south coast starting in the Wild Coast. Following these fish are thousands of dolphins, ragged tooth sharks, humped back whales and thousands of birds all feeding in a frenzy.
Great accommodation, sumptious food, wine and good company. We are 1hr 40 min away from Durban airport and there are daily transfers available.
Directions: From Durban .Take R61 until you reach Port Edward traffic lights. Turn right at traffic lights and travel approximately 11/2 klm and see signage Old Pont Rd and Umtamvuna Nature Reserve. Turn left into Old Pont road and wind your way to the end. Turn right into Mitchell road and Vuna Valley Ventures is the first on the right.
