Welcome to Budapest! The hostel is located in the Palace quarter, in the heart of the city centre surrounded by historic buildings and historical monuments.
The many sights (varied architectural styled palaces, churches, museums, spas etc...) are within walking distance.
The area (and our Mikszath Square) is a pedestrian zone, with lots of outdoor cafes and restaurants .
The hostel is situated in a safe neighbourhood.
Helpful and informative , German and Hungarian speaking staff are ready to provide the guests with all the
necessary information about Budapest and its
surroundings.
We kindly inform all our prospective guest that German and Hungarian communication is available at the hostel 24/7 while English is only available when our English speaking receptionist is in duty. Besides, all the important tourist information is available in English all the time - several of our previous reviews mention this fact.
Guests can enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
in bright, spacious, clean, loft type rooms with 2,3, 4, 6, beds.
If you prefer party hostels we are probably
not the best choire for you.
This is NOT A PARTY HOSTEL. No noise after 10 P.M..

Parking is on street and in a nearby
paying underground parking garage
(100 meters away) at the Pollach Mih�ly square, which is only 3 minutes walk.

The check- out time is at 10:00 A.M. o'clock and
the check-in time from 13:00 to 22:00 P.M.
Sorry, we do not accept credit cards, you will pay with CASH on arrival and
it is given in euros due to the frequent fluctuation of the Hungarian Forint.
Please, note that if you arrive 2 hours later, than your original reservation time and you do not inform the hostel about it, you may risk that you lose your reservation with the deposit not being refunded!!!
On arrival the guests are obliged to check in immediately. In order to confirm their identity, they are required to present a document with a photograph of them.
DEPOSIT (10%) - will not be returned to the customers in case of cancellation of booking or if they are leaving the hostel for another.

How to find us?
From the main railway Station Keleti Pályaudvar
/Eastern Railway Station/
take the red metro line in the direction of Déli Pályaudvar and get off at the second stop called Astória. Take the exit to Múzeum körút, on the left, and walk along Múzeum körút on the side of East-West Business Center. Then go past National Museum (it's on your left) and turn left at the corner right after the bank called OTP (it's in a new building). It is Baross utca. Then, after a few buildings keep on walking on the left, along Reviczky utca. At the end of Revicky utca you will find Mikszáth tér and at the back of it, opposite you, there is a big redbrick building. This is Mikszáth Kálmán tér No. 4, where you will find Budapest Civil Hostel. Please press the bell (number 3) continuously and we will open the gate and welcome you on the first floor, second door to the right.
From Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Reailway Station)
Take the blue metro (subway) line to Kõbánya-Kispest and get off at the 4th stop Kálvin tér and take the left exit Baross utca, then follow the instructions as above.
From the International Bus Terminal 'Népliget'
Take the blue metro line (No.3) in direction of Újpest-Központ and get off at the 4th stop Kálvin tér. Then follow the instructions as indicated above.
Note: The METRO service runs from 4.30 - to 23.10 hours every day.
By Airport Minibus: You can take the Airport Minibus -which is cheaper than a taxi if you are alone. The fee is 3.000 Forint per passenger.
WARNING! In Budapest you need to punch a new ticket every time you change metro lines, buses or trams, so risk of getting a fine. On the lines M2 and M3 the ticket is valid half hour if you travel in the same direction. On the M1 line the ticket is valid 30 minutes. A ticket cost 320,- Forint (approx. 1.20 euros).
IMPORTANT WARNING !
If you`re arriving by car, by train, by airplane, - or got to
Kálvin tér / Kálvin square/ by the blue metro line- please be prepared to meet some hustlers . They work for a few big hostels; usually they assure you, that small properties like ours are very bad, or do not even exist.
Please be tough and try us first. You won't be disappointed!
