Sugar Ridge is the newest four star plus luxury boutique hotel in Antigua having been opened in December 2003 . From its elevated position, Sugar Ridge is situated amid the lush tropical vegetation and offers unparalleled views over the Caribbean Sea, palm lined beaches and the headlands to Five Islands Bay . On the horizon lay Montserrat, Redonda, Nevis and St . Kitts like jewels flung upon the sea . Sugar Ridge offers 60 spacious guest accommodations, housed in 15 two-story buildings that seem to "grow" out of the landscape . Most are shaded by private plants and palm trees, ensuring ultimate privacy . Each guest room has an outdoor verandah on which to enjoy the idyllic setting gentle trade winds . Casually elegant interiors are light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides for excellent cross ventilation . Sugar Club Bar: Located on the upper level, this airy bar is a relaxed spot with views of the pool or sea . The tropical air and friendly atmosphere of this open-air lounge allow guests to relax and enjoy . Comfortable couches and communal tables create the perfect environment for socializing - sip an exotic cocktail or enjoy a snack from the bar menu or opt for the chef's delicious sushi offerings . Carmichael's: This is arguably the most spectacular dining location on Antigua .
