Pension Chiisana Kuni is located in Norikura Highland, in the mountains of Japan's Northern Alps. It is a place to enjoy the beauty of nature all seasons. In winter, the area is coverd with snow from Dec. till March. The Norikura Highland Skiing area, which is also famous for its hot springs, is just 6 minutes away by car, with pick-up service available. In summer, it is especially relaxing to take a bath outdoor, while watching fish and wild ducks swimming in the pond, or watching fireflies glowing in the darkness at night.

Our rooms are all western style. We have 8 guest rooms. There is 1 room on the first floor, designed for wheelchair users. The wheelchair accessible toilet room is right outside this room. There are 7 rooms on the second floor, 4 twin rooms, and 3 rooms with 4 beds. All rooms have sink, toilet, telelphone, TV and A/C. Information outlet and wireless LAN are available in ALL rooms, and FREE Internet.
You can relax and help yourself to FREE tea in our lounge. We have massage chair, TV and computer in the lounge. Please also feel free to read books on our bookshelves.
There are 3 public baths, 2 indoor and 1 outdoor, avaliable 24 hours. When you take a bath, lock the door from inside, and put the sign 'In Use' at the entrance, so that you can enjoy your bath time by yourself or with your family. Shampoo, rinse, and body soap are prepared for public use.
Another thing makes us special is that we are dog-friendly. However, please pay attention to the following rules and attentions:
. Give ALL information about your dog/dogs (age, sex, breed type, vaccination, etc.) when you make the hotel reservation.
. Dogs are not allowed to sleep on hotel beds.
. Shampoo your dog/dogs before lodging.
. Dogs must be through with potty training.
. When you leave your dog/dogs alone in the room, make sure they don't damage any facilities.
. Keep dog/dogs on leash when walk in the building.
. Clean up after your dog/dogs when you take a walk in the neighborhood.
. Take all the dog litter home with you.
. Make sure you inquire about where you can put your dog/dogs off leash.
. Bring food, food tray, first-aid medicine, and cage, if necessary, for your dog/dogs.
. An additional fee of 1050/dog is charged.
