Ruca Hostel

Our aim is to provide our guests with a greater knowledge of nature and adventure sports and to raise awareness of our environment, in an eternal desire to respect.

Enjoy the warm welcome that you will receive from owner Jorge L�pez Le�n, the first Chilean to have travelled into space from Cape Canaveral in the United States. Jorge has extensive travel experience accumulated over six years during which time he was able to retain the best of each of the hotels and inns where he stayed. Thus, simplicity, friendliness, openness and respect for other cultures are all features to be found at Hostel Ruca.

Here you will find an alternative space to share and exchange fun experiences with people from all over the world. We aim to create a warm and homely environment in one of the most beautiful places in the south of Chile. We also aim to encourage an appreciation of the cultural values of Puerto Varas and the surrounding area.

Directions

From the North:
If you come from the north by bus we are going to meet you at the same terminus that is quite close to the Ruca Hostel, according to the line of buses that come up to this city. (Tour bus, ETM, Cross of the South, Pullman bus, between others)

From the South:
In case that you come from the south, at the time it is possible that you're travelling in plane, therefore we are going to look for you at the airport of Port Montt with a surcharge to your housing. If you chose to get here by train, you can take the minibus that goes out of the terminus of buses of Port Montt. These lines are buses of celestial color with names as full express, Suyai, between others. The cost of the ticket is of $700 Chilean dollars (equivalent to US$1.50)
