The Astra Hotel is an old building with very large rooms which have been totally refurbished and completed in 2011 whilst retaining all the characteristics of the fifties. The hotel is not pretentious but comfortable, airy and having plenty of light. The building has been planned to be as eco friendly as possible. The Management of the next door four star Preluna Hotel are responsible for the running of the Astra and assure you of their professional attention.
The Astra consists of 36 bedrooms all with bathrooms that include showers, LCD T.V., telephone, ceiling fan and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are five, four, three and two bedded having a total of 96 beds. A breakfast room and a sun terrace complete the set up of the building.
This is a low budget hotel offering the very best value for money in operation from 15th March to 15th November.

By car:
Once you leave Malta International Airport follow the signs to Valletta for approximately 6.5 km until you see the first sign for PIETA. Turn LEFT at this point and continue along Pieta Creek (Yacht Marina) until you reach MSIDA roundabout and from here follow the signs to SLIEMA through GZIRA. With Sliema Creek on your right, drive on until you reach the Strand then turn LEFT up Tower Road until you get to the Old Fortress. You have arrived! Your Resort, the Astra Hotel is on your left.
By Bus:
Bus number 8 First dep. in the morning to the airport at 6.00am from Valletta & viceversa every 20 mins. till 9.00pm
Bus number 39 at 9.30pm and 10.00pm
From Valletta take bus numbers 62, 67, 68
By Taxi:
There is a taxi stand just outside the customs area or should you wish to book a taxi to meet you at the airport please email us on reservations@preluna.com. We offer a taxi service at Euro19.00 for up to 3 persons and Euro28 for 4 to 7 persons. Please include your flight details when emailing to book a taxi.
