To a toa (Meaning to chill out in Brazilian Portuguese) is a beautiful and relaxing Pousada/hostel Situated a few blocks back from one of the most gorgeous beaches in Paraty (jabaquara). It is also one of the only Pousadas owned and run by a brazilian (Patricia) and a foreigner (James-English). Both have travelled the world extensively and stayed in many hostels and Backpackers. Our mission here is to help you through your travels cheaply and to make your stay here as great and enjoyable as possible. To a Toa boasts continuing returns of cliental, due to its great location, Service and relaxing atmosphere.
The positioning of To a Toa Hostel/Pousada is about 15 mins walk from the centre of Paraty. This walk is highly recommended due to its beauty. But if you prefer we offer a free shuttle service into the centre and free pick up. We cater for all types of travellers and offer dormitories rooms, double rooms and triple rooms depending on what you are looking for. All rooms come with ceiling fans or/and air conditioning and T.V. Superior rooms also come with a fridge. The Hostel/Pousada is WIFI friendly. There is also a great Breakfast with fruits of the season, choices of cheese and meats, eggs, Fresh breads, Cakes, Coffee & Tea, Fruit juices etc…
Jabaquara beach is a great location for a Hostel/Pousada, as you get the chance to relax on the beautiful beach with a view of the (national park) rain forests set behind you on the cunha hills. On the beach there are great activities to enjoy such as volleyball courts, football goals and water sports such as canoeing and snorkelling or just taking a swim. Directly on the beach there are bars and eateries to relax in If you so desire. From Jabaquara there is easy access to explore the historical colonial streets of Paraty which is highly recommended. There are many festivals that happen all year round in Paraty, so please check out when these are happening as it is a great time to come. Paraty is one of the few places in brazil that is starting to cater for foreigners (Gringos) outside of the main cities. This makes it a safe place to travel and also gives you the chance to enjoy Brazilian culture with the added bonus of meeting same minded people. In Paraty you can enjoy many activities from taking a jeep into the mountains to scuba diving to catching a relaxing boat trip round the beautiful coastline. So there is no shortage of things to do.
