However, there is a new subway station being built, just right next to the hostel, and it will be ready and operational by December.

Take the bus 13 or K-13 to 'Moskovskaya ' metro station. Take a subway train to 'Nevsky prospekt' station, this will take 7 train stops. (Note: make sure you get on a route designated by blue line, looking at the map will make this clear.)
