Directions
From Lisbon airport: you have the choice of Train, Bus, or Car(taxi). When you arrive at the airport you might catch the Bus, we would recommend that you take it ,as there are no changes, and the prices are very reasonable:12.50euros, one way. However to get to the bus station (Sete Rios Station), will cost you around 5Euros and will take about 5-10m.
By train is still a cheap way. You will need to go from the airport to Lisboa Oriente Station and buy a ticket to Figueira da Foz from the ticket desk. There are some changes, but the best rout to opt for has only one change at Alfarelos. A ticket from Lisbon to Figueira da Foz varies in prices, depending on the number of changes, time of the day and whether you take an inter-city or urban-line. A general guide is:12euros cheapest ticket, that will take around 3hours, the most expensive is about 30 euros, that will cut your jouney time by half.
By car: the trip will take about 2h:30 minutes by the highway and you will need to pay tolls that are about 40euros. As you arrive to Figueira da Foz, look up for Praça Nova (Luis de Camões or Rua Bombeiros Voluntários, n 9)
From Porto airport to Figueira da Foz(Areia da Foz, Praça Nova): the driving time is about 1h,29 minutes by the highway, having a cost in the pay tolls. However the cheapest way to get to Figueira da Foz, is by taking the metro(in Porto),wich is clearly marked as you enter in the city. You can buy a ticket to Porto Campanhã (the center rail), and it will take about 40 minutes and cost 2Euros. At Porto Campanhã buy a ticket from the ticket desk to Figueira da Foz( the price will vary depending on what lines you travel...the cheapest is around 14euros, until Coimbra-B, then catch the next train to Figueira da Foz, that will cost you about 2.80€. The most expensive is about 20Euros). If you come buy Bus (Rede Expresso), you have (Station Bom Sucesso)(Station de autocarros InterNorte) in Porto that will bring you to Coimbra, for more a less then 11.90€, catching another bus to Figueira da Foz for about 5€.
