Alcazar is a beautiful boutique hotel featuring seven custom designed suites, each with its own unique personality. Totally renovated and updated in 2012, we are located just steps from the Pacific Ocean in the charming fishing village of San Juan Del Sur. Enjoy the aromas of the tropical off shore breezes and famous Latin American sunsets, unbelievable!

Step back in time as you travel to San Juan Del Sur about two hours from Managua's international airport. You will pass through small villages, fields of sugar canes, groves of papaya and plantain trees and pass ox carts carrying produce to local markets as they have done for hundreds of years.

ALCAZARING-Al-ca'-zahr-ing(al-kuh-zahr-ing) verb: indulgent relaxation on our open air balconies or beaches while enjoying your favorite beverage as the sun slow sets.

Directions

Turn right out of the airport of Managua. Continue driving, about 10 minutes or so until you reach the town of Tipitapa.
There is a Petronic gas station at the turn as well as a big chicken restaurant.
Turn to your right and follow this to the stop sign.
Go straight through the stop sign and drive for about 20 minutes until it dead ends at the Masaya Highway.
Go left and go through town.
At the second round-about, go right.
This road will take you by Catarina and to the highway to Nandaime.
It will also dead end and you will take the curve to the right.
Make sure and stop at this stop sign because there are ALWAYS cops waiting to give tickets. Follow this for about another 10 minutes or so until it dead ends at the Pan American.
Here you will turn left and follow this road through Rivas, about a 45 minute drive.
About 15 minutes past Rivas, you will see signage for San Juan del Sur.
Turn to your right and follow this another 15 minutes to San Juan Del Sur.

Beware, the road between Catarina and the Pan American is pretty ugly as well as the San Juan road.
There are police dotted all along your route so make sure the rental car has a fire extinguisher and a set of triangles as this is their favorite reason to try and give you a ticket.

If you plan to stop for groceries, you can do so in Rivas at the Pali super market.
Once you go through the rotunda in Rivas, drive one street past the Texaco and turn right.
This should take you directly to the Pali.

When you arrive into town you have to drive past the Pali supermarket on your left, then keep driving until you drive past the UNO gas station, next keep driving 2 more blocks until you get to the beach.
You will see in front of you El Timon Restaurant, if so, turn right and keep going for one more block.
You will see the building on your right.
