Activity/Tourkeyboard_double_arrow_up
Each of the boats of the Maine Windjammer Association is individually owned and operated and half of them are registered as National Historic Landmarks. No matter which boat you sail on you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind vacation; one that you will never forget. You'll encounter amazing scenery and perhaps some wildlife, eat amazing food, experience an authentic Maine lobster bake, meet new friends, and create a ton of shareable memories.
Typical Daykeyboard_double_arrow_up
Mother nature dictates the course of your sailing vacation. These are traditional wind-driven vessels. The captains will take Mother Nature's measure and then plot a course that will be safe and scenic. Some of the vessels may venture north toward Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, others may trek southward toward Boothbay Harbor. Captains always try to make time for passengers to get off the boat and explore - whether it's a cozy coastal town or an uninhabited island.

Wake up to the scent of freshly perked coffee and a family-style buffet breakfast. Enjoy snacks and beverages throughout the day as you sail or stop to explore or swim. Evenings often are accompanied by star-gazing, or singing jaunty sea shanties, or listening to the crew play their instruments (and you are encouraged to join!). Listen to the captains' tales of history and lore while you sip wine by lantern light. Every sail is unique and amazing.
Sleeping and mealskeyboard_double_arrow_up
People of all persuasions are welcome to sail. Kids aged 10 years and older are welcome as well, though the age limit differs by boat. Come alone, come as a couple, come as a family, business group, or other gaggle. Each MWA vessels offers charter opportunities for groups as well as "come one come all" sailing trips.
Policies & Restrictionskeyboard_double_arrow_up
Meals are included with your sailing vacation. Some vessels offer beer or wine at meals and guests are encouraged to bring their own libations, which can be stored in the vessel's coolers. All guests are encouraged to drink responsibly as quarters are close and others' experience on the vessel matters, too.

All the vessels of the MWA are able to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low-sodium, and other special diets and are very happy to do so. You should let your captain know at the time you make your reservation that you need this consideration. If you don;t mention it until you board, they may not be able to accommodate you.

Sleeping quarters are very cozy, with warm blankets and soft pillows. Though there is enough space to sleep and maneuver, the berths are not the size of hotel rooms. Guests are encouraged to pack smaller, soft, duffel bags that can more easily "squished and stored". Guests are encouraged to bring ear plugs. Quarters are cozy and they come in handy for light sleepers.

Every vessel of the MWA can accommodate CPAP machines. If you have one, you may bring it with you.
