Built in Gallo-Roman times, upon a hill, crisscrossed by the river Loir, Vendôme became a Duchy in 1515 by the will of Francis I .Antoine of Bourbon first Duke of Vendôme was to be the father of the future king of France: Henry IV, who started the Royal Bourbon dinasty. The present King of Spain is related to this family. Nowadays a town of 25 000 inhabitants, Vendôme has done well to maintain its historical gardens and architecture.Take a Rowboat on the river Loir, or use a horse driven carriage to discover at a quiet pace a most beautiful town. During the summer season, free enjoyable open air concerts take place in the cloister of the Trinity Abbey.

The 18th century Huchepie Manor, once owned by the knights of the hospital is built on a hill offering stunning views of the Loir Valley and the town of Vendôme.
Access to the dining room and bedrooms is through the tower up its massive wood staircase built in 1753.

Two large double suites, each with its own private baths and amenities, are available from 68 to 84 € for two, including continental breakfast. Extra bed is available for a third person or a child. Rates include local taxes and breakfast: (home made organic bread, home made jam, freshly squashed fruit juice etc...) served in the large dining-room overlooking the beautiful garden.

E.T. the manor's cat does not accept other animals on her hunting ground!

The well maintained Oratoire wood, 800 yards away from the house, is an inviting short walk.
The Manor is also an ideal starting point for hiking and biking.
Reception of our guests is between 4 and 7 o'clock pm.
If you are arriving by train, we can arrange transportation.
Paris is only 42 minutes away with the TGV train, the railways station is two miles away from the Manor, on the other side of the hill. No! you cannot hear the trains!
