The storefronts are as they were when Lanesboro was first put on the map! A great variety of shops ranging from a Local Winery, Amish Tours, Gourmet Restaurants, Amish Gift and Furniture Shops, Ice Cream Parlor, Full Service Outfitters with Canoe, Tube, Bike X-Ski and Snowshoe Rental, Live Professional Acting Theatre and Fine Art Store. You find a place to park and take a journey down the Root River Trail. A 60-mile paved multiple use corridor trail developed on an abandoned railroad grade. Bicycling, in-line skating and hiking in the summer and X-Skiing in the winter. Canoeing down the Root River is an adventure all in itself! Rent a canoe from the Little River General Store (1-800-994-2943), and take the 4-½ trip from Moens Bridge to Whalan. Intermediate water with many small rapids throughout the trip. Look out for the sunken tree trunks! You may find yourself up the creek without a paddle! While traveling down the Root River and State Trail outstanding views of the soaring limestone bluffs and the abundant sighting of wild turkey, deer, hawks and turkey vultures will keep you entertained.
After 18 years in business, we are one of the oldest operating B & B's in Lanesboro and the state of Minnesota. The Historic Home is an 1889 Queen Anne Victorian mansion, with all of it's original woodwork and stained glass windows. It also features an extremely rare stamped leatherette paneling in the dining room. The Home is decorated in Victorian with antiques & Victorian reproduction pieces.
