Locally there are some great heritage Gardens- Birr Castle Gardens, Belvedere House Gardens, Heywood Gardens. Clonmacnoise is Ireland's most visited heritage site dating back to the 500's. Here among the High Crosses and Round towers you will find the grave stones of some of the High Kings of Ireland. In the evenings enjoy some local beer at the Slieve Bloom Brewing company which is just across acroos the road from Ardmore Country House
