great stay at the Sand Dollar. This is a nice unit, great location. Pretty much everything you need for a complete stay. You can't beat the location. Close to the dive shop and the small beach area. Park at the condo door. Nice screened in area, place to dry wet suits. Would stay again.

spent 4 fantastic weeks here. loved the ground floor location. so nice to walk out the porch door every morning , coffee in hand to stroll to the seawall. view sunset from the screened in porch or join the other sand dollar guests on the terrace. one of the best things about sand dollar is the ocean access. even for a person with balance issues, the sand dollar steps are easy in and out of the water. the sand dollar owners are great about replacing steps if they get blown off by storms and more than once i've seen an owner scrubbing algae off a slippery step. new lounge chairs are very nice. we were able to order fresh fish from the sand dollar office and have it delivered later that day. therer is a liitle grocery next door and a larger one zuhng kong, down the road that is a 45 minute round trip walk. between 2 buns is next door. warm baguettes fresh from th oven are onlly 75 cents. we bought a large beef tenderloin from warehouse grocery and enjoyed several meals from it. the condo itself is everything you would want. within minutes it will feel like your home away from home. it is nicely decorated and very comfortable for 2 couples. the unit gets a nice flow of air flowing through the unit. we didn't use the bedroom air condioners even once in 4 weeks. the owners are very nice and want to make sure you enjoy your visit. this is actually the second time i've stayed in this unit and plan to stay there again. i checked out several other units when i was there and this is the one i want to return to. Had another wonderful month at b7 February 2015. Enjoyed the new living room furniture and made a pot roast in the crockpot. Thanks Louis and Eileen. Outside, there was a seahorse in 12’ of water in front of the aquarium for the whole month. My first seahorse! There were also a couple of frogfish around. Joined the Monday rum punch party at den laman pier a couple of times. Restaurants we tried that were new for us included Zazu bar by Bistro de Paris on Wednesday burger night. $8 delicious burgers and free rum if you buy $2.50 coke. They nicely exchanged the coke for fruit juice for us. Also went to La Balandra at Harbour Village. You need to have made a reservation to get past the security gate. Nice atmosphere and great appetizers. We registered as snorkelers which let us use the steps at den laman pier for access. A typical outing we would enter at sand dollar steps and exit at den laman pier. Also did a night snorkel with Dee from the Woodwind. Saw the cutest baby squid. All in all, a great month. First, a few words about the island. Bonaire……If you are looking for vast, expansive sandy beaches, lush tropical vegetation, frequent rains, and a good potential for a random hurricane/storm, then Bonaire is NOT for you. If, however, you are looking for some fantastic, stable weather in the winter (we were there in December) coupled with excellent diving opportunities, then this is IT! My wife, our four-year old, and I stayed at the condo during the second week in December. Throughout the week the weather was a consistent 84-86F with a few, if any, rain showers that occurred at night. Escaping from a foggy and cold-humid December Northeast was thus a delight. The condo…..good and convenient location. Not too far from the airport (a mere 10-15 minute drive from the airport, depending on the traffic), close to the capital of the island, and grocery stores. The location is great in that it is close to pretty much everything, but at the same time there is no audible noise either from the road, airline traffic, or wild vacationers. It seemed like we did not have any neighbors next to the condo, or so it appeared, so I cannot really comment on this. The property owner is very responsive and helpful with any questions. One thing to note, though, a check is preferred for a deposit vs. a credit card or a PayPal payment. Not a problem, but could be a convenience issue for some. The owner also helped me to connect with the DiveFriends shop and arranged a discount for me. The diving on the island is great….so many dive sites from which to choose, and the dive shop goes out of their way to make the experience relaxed and stress-free. After all, Bonaire is known as a diver’s paradise. The rest of my family does not dive, and so they had a great time at the condo’s beach. The beach is small, though, but it was just perfect for my wife and our son; sandy, with calm, clear water, without any waves. Over all, I would stay on the island and this condo if I chose Bonaire again.

This property was just right for our group of four adult divers. The condo is ground level with a screened in porch facing the water and steps from two dive shops; it immediately felt like home for our week in paradise. The unit is as described and well maintained, with thoughtful extras like a well supplied kitchen, gear drying pegs on the porch, reading material and local art. It comfortably sleeps four (the maids rigged the twin beds so that our second couple didn't get shorted on sleeping arrangements) and is centrally located to everything on the west coast of the island. The owners were very responsive and took pains to ensure our comfort and enjoyment by providing information about the unit and the area ahead of time as well as checking in by email a few days after our arrival. Divers - we recommend Dive Friends, with shops conveniently located along the west coast dive sites including a shop next door to Sand Dollar (don't worry, they don't fill tanks there so you won't hear compressors running all night...) Bari reef, right in front of the unit, is where you will do your check out dive - we saw tarpon and a turtle there on our first dive. (We also did both a night and a pre-dawn dive there; so easy!) We will be back for another stay in B7 in the not-too-distant future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers.Response

I have been to Bonaire many times, and had dived with people staying at Sanddollar, but this was my first time staying there. Booking and communication with Eileen and Louis were easy and straightforward. The condo, grounds, staff, and facilities were as described. I highly recommend this unit (except when I want to book it, lol!). For divers, the location is super-convenient. Used Dive Friends. On-site location for 24hr tanks and gear storage & retrieval. Bari Reef is right out front. I would not hesitate to book this unit again.
