So perfectly organized! Thank you SO much for the detailed guidebook and help from our guide. I was particularly impressed with the luxurious accommodations each night. And the natural scenery of our trip was often breathtaking; we were so fortunate to be able to go on this trip. And what luxury to have our luggage moved each night and to have our car waiting for us at the end! So grateful and appreciative for this trip, and can't wait to join you all again for another slow adventure...

I have taken several self guided hikes and bicycle trips over the last few years in addition to the active vacations that I have taken every year since 1996 (Coast to coast in England--biking Passau Germany to Vienna to Budapest. I had the time and desire to take a short self guided hike in northern California. I looked at one provided by a travel company that I had used in the past but it was very pricey and even though I was traveling alone they wanted to charge me the full price that they would charge two hikers.I was very fortunate to happen upon a review of Slow Adventures in the San Francisco Chronicle and called the owner Margaret to reserve my trip. The price was significantly less than with the larger travel company who subcontracts with a local vendors even though they stay at the same places. Margaret and I emailed and spoke several times before my trip. She met with me the first morning of my trip for breakfast and provided me with very detailed maps and hiking instructions. I stayed in great, but varied places. I plan on taking the Slowg Adventures hike along the bay in the future. Put simply it was a GREAT trip. I encourage anyone who wants to take a beautiful hike in the San Francisco area to look at this trip

This was by far the best vacation I've ever taken. The hike was challenging, beautiful, and so peaceful. Margaret did a wonderful job with all aspects of the planning. I've been back less than two weeks, and I miss it already!

I already wish I was back on the beach! This walk ( Santa Cruz to Monterey) exceeded my expectations on all levels: great organization and support from Margaret, cheerleader extraordinare, and the wonderful food and accomodations. I definitely recommend!

If you love beautiful scenery, good food, and being away from the hustle and bustle of life, then this Slow Adventure will exceed your expectations. Margaret will become your new best friend and as a bonus your waistband gets bigger.

I saw a review of Slow Adventure in an American Airlines magazine. I filed in my "Interesting Travel ideas" but it kept calling to me. I convinced 5 friends to join me on a little hike. This has become one of my favorite trips and look forward to doing the Monterey Bay walk. Thank you Margaret!

This is my second walking trip with Slow Adventure (first being Walk the Bay) and the same group of friends, with one new addition this last trip. We came back again because we knew that with Margaret Leonard's planning we would not be disappointed. She was as organized, accommodating and enthusiastic as ever. What I loved the most about this trip was the variation in lanscape that we traversed. One minute we were on bluffs high above the ocean, the next walking along mountain trails and then in the same day, walking on a sandy beach. It was beautiful. A couple of the accommodations were not as upscale as the Walk the Bay trip, but were unique to the setting and certainly fulfilled all our needs. The restaurants that we ate at every night were wonderful, most with unbelievable views. I've already asked Margaret about her next tour, because I will be signing on for sure.

I expected to enjoy this slow adventure with a few close friends, but the trip ended up surpassing my expectations. Slow adventure has put together an excellent product...well thought out itinerary, lots of variety on scenery, accommodations, restaurant recommendations, etc.
I travel extensively (about 3 months a year) and this was one of my favorite trips this year !!! I highly recommend it !!!
