Knockree YH is An Oige\'s newest Hostel building. It re-opened in April 2008 after a total rebuild. Situated in the spectacular Glencree Valley, along the Wicklow Way route, it boasts spectacular views and a walk along the river.

Knockree hostel is located in a fabulous rural setting 7.5km from Enniskerry and 12km from Bray town in the county of Wicklow.

It is an ideal location for hillwalkers, lovers of the outdoors and activity-seekers, and makes a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Families and business- people alike enjoy the relaxed, easy-going atmosphere and the scenery that makes Knockree unique. Some bedrooms have views of the amazing scenery that surrounds this hostel, most especially, our Double Deluxe Room is also dubbed \'the Honeymoon Room\'.

PLEASE NOTE:
* Hostelling International members receive a � 2 discount p.p. per night on arrival on production of a valid membership card.
* You are advised to bring your own food as no shops close by and meals facilities currently limited to breakfast. Closest shop Enniskerry, 7km.
* We do not accept bookings for more than 10 people. Any such booking will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded.
* Our \'Family Rooms\' will have at least a DOUBLE bed in the form of either: \'Houston\' type bunkbed (double bottom, single on top) or a \'regular\' Double bed. If you require a 3bed Family, book a 4bed then contact us directly.
* Our Double / Twin room COULD have more than 2 beds - but rest assured if you rent a Double/Twin you\'ll have it to yourselves! All Double/Twins will have at least a Double bed unless otherwise specified.

Reception opening hours 08:00 - 21:00, LAST CHECK-INS strictly 9pm! Ring the hostel for late arrivals.

And Don\'t Forget ..we now offer adventure activities in conjunction with Eco Adventure Ireland on our hostel grounds for groups including pony trekking, mountain biking, archery, low ropes, target shooting, team tasks and orienteering. We also offer ecology field study days for schools.

To Enniskerry Village
From Dublin
M50 Southbound onto N11 Southbound, past Bray North, then exit left at Bray South, signposted Greystones & Enniskerry, take last exit off roundabout signposted Enniskerry and cross over bridge back onto N11 northbound, then immediate next left (stay in slip lane) before green footbridge onto R117 - direction Glencree - to Enniskerry village
From SE (Wexford & Bray South)
N11 Northbound: past 1st exit ramp for Bray (North) turn off left onto R117 before green footbridge - direction Glencree - to Enniskerry village
From Bray (North)
At Old Conna Junction: northbound turn left onto Old Connaught Ave, (southbound turn right at junction), then left at Old Conna village junction with Thorndale Rd (signposted St Gerards School) then sharp right onto Ballymaan Road (signposted Old Dunlaoghaire Golf Club) continue 2km then left at t-junction Monastery Cross (Texaco Garage) 1km downhill into Enniskerry village
From Shankill/Loughlinstown
Old Dublin Road( in/out of Loughlinstown/Shankill) onto Stonebridge Road or Old Bray Road from Woodbrook onto Crinken/Ballybride Road /Ferndale Road, Rathmichael Road (right of Rathmichael Church) onto Ballycorus Road, at junction with lights at Ballycorus -Kilternan turn left onto old Enniskerry Road to Monastery Cross (Texaco Garage - Spar Express) veer left on into Enniskerry Village

To Hostel from Enniskerry Village
Take right fork at Monument (Spar Shop on right), direction Glencree, past Fruit and Veg shop on left continue uphill 3km on Kilgarron Hill past Kilgarron stores/P.O. on left, GAA field on right, through Kilmolin onto Glencree Drive, pass last bus-stop on left, lay-by on right, continue approx another 2.5 km, Brook Cottage Guest House on left, Cherryhill Farm on right.
By car, small coach or minibus
Take next Left Turn (It is the only signposted turn) downhill posted for 'Waterfall', Oak Lawn B&B' and 'Knockree Youth Hostel'. At T-junction at Old Annacrivey Schoolhouse, you are facing a blue pole marked 'Hostel', signposted on your right for 'Oak Lawn B&B' and 'Knockree Youth Hostel'. Take the sharp right here downhill, over a little bridge, back uphill pass Oak Lawn Guest House on left, later a new bungalow 'Finns Meadow' followed by a blind bend to the left, continue on past Glaskenny Farm on your left, go approx another 1km after the last house - a new white building on left, until you see flagpoles on your left and the Hostel on your right-hand side.
The car park is to the rear, past the building.
Large Coach
Do not take the first Left Turn (signposted for the Hostel and Waterfall and Oak Lawn as above).
Continue up the Glencree Drive approx 4km passing Curtlestown School and Church on right and Cloon Oak Glen on left and Cloon Wood on right. The 'Wicklow Way' travels along this road until the next junction at past Barnamire Lodge.
At Barnamire, 'Community Alert Area' Sign on left, there is a small turn left past the Hostel and Wicklow Way Signs (old-style small brown sign with hostel logo, no name) up a short narrow lane (just wide enough for a coach), hedges on each side, which widens out at the top. Veer right and continue approx 5 km through the Glencree Valley until you reach the lay-by/turning-circle at Knockree Hill, which is the Wicklow Way staging point for Knockree. The Wicklow Way is signposted each side of the road. Leave Coach here and continue on foot 300m to Hostel.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Dublin Bus route number 44 from Dublin City to Enniskerry Village. Walk from Enniskerry village - same route as by car
or taxi from Enniskerry village - approx €15.

DART (Electric train) from Dublin Connolly to Bray.
Dublin Bus route number 185 from Bray Station to Terminus on Glencree Drive via Enniskerry.
Walk 35 minutes to Hostel along same route as by car from bus-stop (Brook Cottage)

Taxi from Bray Station to Hostel approx €20
