Ardara, Donegal, on the northwest coast of Ireland, is an excellent choice as a base for sightseeing around Donegal's spectacular western coast. We have uncrowded sandy beaches, safe for bathing and surfing. We have mountains famous throughout Europe for hillwalking, as well as a wide range of forest and country walks, and coastal walks. In addition, our quiet roads and byways make sightseeing a pleasure for the touring motorist.
For the angler, we have lake and river fishing, as well as sea fishing charters near at hand. For those more interested in history, we have archaeological sites dating back thousands of years, as well as a rich folklore and traditional music nightly. We are the area of Ireland famous for its handwoven woolen tweeds and linens.
Above all, Ardara is known far and wide for its hospitality and the friendliness of its people, who are ever ready to make you, the visitor, feel welcome and at home during your stay.
At Gort na Móna Bed and Breakfast, Fiona and Laurence Breslin accommodate visitors in some style and no little comfort as they endeavour to maintain the highest standards of service and hospitality. You will find home cooking and the traditional full Irish breakfast each day. Fiona's home baking and rhubarb and marmalade jams are among the treats that the visitor can look forward to.
