Exterior Image of Ashford Caslte (#1/5) The 13th Century Ashford Castle is set on the northern shores of Lough Corrib amidst acres of beautiful gardens and forests. Once the country estate of Lord Ardilaun and the Guinness family, it was transformed into a luxury hotel in 1939. The Castle's great hall is lavishly decorated with rich panelling, fine period pieces, objets d'art and masterpiece paintings. All 83 guest rooms are of the highest standards and many feature high ceilings, enormous bathrooms and delightful lake and river views.
Ashford Castle is renowned for their exceptional cuisine in their resident restaurants. Each one offers guests a range of dining options to suit all occasions, moods and attires. Choose from the five course Table d’ Hote evening meal in the elegant George V Dining room boasting eleven Waterford Crystal Chandeliers, or Cullen’s at the Cottage, which serves a Bistro-style a la carte menu in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. A daily snack menu is served in the Castle’s Drawing room; one can also avail of 24 hour in-room dining. Each of these dining options are known for their creative cooking and inspired use of locally sourced, seasonal and organic ingredients.

The hotel has four treatment rooms offering the full array of treatments for both men and women .There are extensive private grounds with designated jogging and walking trails and for the garden enthusiast the formal gardens have been restored to their original splendour. Boat trips can be arranged to the Islands on Lough Corrib, additionally bicycle hire can also be arranged.
Stateroom (#2/5) These rooms in the Castle would be one of my favourite & very romantic - wonderfully appointed unique large Castle rooms with high ceilings all located in the oldest section of the Castle, dating back to the 13th and 17th centuries. Most Staterooms contain traditional four poster beds and all feature original fireplaces with antique furniture. Staterooms boast large bathrooms and some feature pedestal claw baths – exactly how a Castle should be.
