In the centre of the historic County town of Burton upon Trent - most famous for its beers which have been brewed here since the 12th Century. The Bass Museum of Brewing is a nationally acclaimed venue where visitors can not enjoy the latest of interactive museums but also meet the famous "Bass Shire Horses". The Derbyshire Peak District just a few minutes north of the hotel enjoys some of Englands finest scenery ranging from Moorlnads in the west to the rocky valley of the River Derwent in the East and containing such superb historic venues as Chatsworth home of the Dukes of Devonshire. For the younger, light hearted visitor a short 30 minute drive takes you to Alton Towers - the UK's largest theme park whilst world class motor sports takes place at the nearby Donington Park. An ideal touring base we have something nearby for everyone including good golf (The Ryder Cup venue at the Belfry is only 45 minutes away)coarse fisheing on the River Trent and a host of country and canalside pubs and restaurants.

The outside of the hotel combines three buildings the earliest of which dates from the 16th Century whilst the hotel is entered through the new portico into a spacious lobby. Within the hotel the individual areas of the hotel, Crown Suites, Conference Centre are all reached by passing through glazed courtyards within the building. Our intimate restaurant seating only 40 guests offers superb cuisine under the guidance of our General Manager, Paul Smith.

Rooms range from our standard singles through Executive rooms to our luxury suites. Every room enjoys direct dial telephone, modempoints, full voicemail, and an entertainment sytem with 11 television channels, four movies and radio together with full en-suite facilities that even include a "duck" in the bathroom. Our new executive rooms are all fully air-conditioned whilst our two four poster suites offer the extra luxury of an Aqua Spa bath. Three of our suites which are styled on Mews Cottages have seperate downstairs lounges and double bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs giving you the feeling of a home from home and are ideal for the guest staying that little longer.

Basil's Restaurant offers excellent English and Continental Cuisine under the guidance of our Award Winning Chef. Whilst conferencing is available in our Centre with soundproofed, air-conditioned rooms with every modern facility ranging from electric screens and curtains to ISDN communications with video conferencing capabilities. For those requiring a larger conference or some delegate packages with different attractions we combine with the Bass Museum in "Burton Conferencing" to offer unique packages wghich can range from transferring delegates on a Shire Horse drawn dray to ale brewed especially for your conference and bottled with commemerative labeling.(See
