Set in Northumbria's area of outstanding natural beauty, Peth Head Cottage is located in the quiet hamlet of Juniper, 4 miles south of Hexham market town and historic Corbridge. The area is particularly beautiful with wooded valleys and high moorland, all within walking distance from the cottage door. Heritage areas in Northumbria are extensive with Hadrians Wall, magnificent Castles and Roman sites in abundance. We are in an ideal situation for touring, walking or cycling the Northern Pennines, and the wonderful, magnificent, unspoilt coastline of Northumberland.
Peth Head Cottage was built in 1825 of traditional Northumbrian stone. It's walls are now covered with roses, clematis and ivy which spill over the windows and doors. The garden is peaceful, however, the wrens, bluetits and sparrows nest here and we have to share the noisy dawn chorus once the baby chicks hatch in the Spring. Although named a 'cottage' it is surprisingly large and has all modern amenities. We can accommodate up to four adults in two en suite bedrooms (available as singles if required). Guests have their own lounge and there is good private parking for your vehicle.
We have two charming guest bedrooms both en suite, shower, wc and handbasin. They are sunny, pleasant and well equipped, with south facing views over the garden. They have double beds, tea/coffee making facilities, radio/alarms, hair dryers and full central heating.
There is a cosy guest lounge with original beams, comfy chairs, colour tv/radio and plenty of maps and local information available for your use, and should you wish, we will be glad to help plan your itinerary.
