For a true taste of Tuscany and the 'bella vita' in an authentic XIVth century setting, visit us at the Fattoria Bassetto. We are located in Certaldo, in the belly button of Tuscany in a beautiful region of vineyards, olive groves and medieval towns.
Fattoria Bassetto was formerly a convent of Benedictine monks that was always open to pilgrims passing through. In 1998, our family opened Fattoria Bassetto again to travellers with the same notion of hospitality as the monks centuries ago. We wanted our guesthouse to be unique in terms of setting and location, a place you would want to return to at night and somewhere to relax from city life.
Meander through landscapes sculpted by sunflowers, rolling hills and farms either on foot, bicycle or on one of our mini-van tours (June-Sept). Day trips by public transport are easy from Certaldo, so go exploring to see the splendours of Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and other towns which are less than an hour away.
You can try your hand in the communal kitchen with Tuscan recipes from our cooking classes, sample local wines, or do little more than put your feet up in the hammocks or take a swim in our swimming pool.
There is something for everyone here.

DIRECTIONS FOR TRAINS
Certaldo is located one hour from Florence by train. For all train information please use www.trenitalia.com to plan your route. We offer 2 daily pick-ups from Certaldo train station at either 11.00 am & 5.00 pm. PICK UP IS ON DEMAND, so you must let us know us know if you would like us to collect you. You can use the walking instructions which will be attached to your confirmation email from Fattoria Bassetto or take a taxi from the station for 10 euros. Taxis are located just outside the station.
DIRECTIONS FOR CARS
From Florence: Take the freeway to Siena. Exit Poggibonsi Nord, follow signs for Poggibonsi, then Certaldo on road 429. Fattoria Bassetto is on the right opposite Signorini.
From Pisa: Take the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno motorway direction Firenze. Exit at Empoli Ovest, go through Ponte a Elsa, direction Siena. Follow this road till you reach Certaldo. Once in Certaldo keep following indications for Siena/Poggibonsi. Drive 1.5 km past Certaldo town until you get to see a big blue neon sign SIGNORINI on your right. Turn left into the gravel driveway and you have reached Fattoria Bassetto.

DIRECTIONS FOR WALKING
Fattoria Bassetto is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. The best way to walk is through the town i head straight up the main street turn right and keep walking! You will recieve walking instructions as an attachment in our confirmation email.
