Our period village house, on the edge of Exideuil sur Vienne, is full of character but benefits from modern ensuite bathrooms and central heating. We offer relaxed, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of the Charente Limousine countryside. The generous continental breakfast (included in the price) can be taken on the terrace in warmer months. A full, english style breakfast is available at a supplement.
The village has shops including a bakery, chemist and general store. There is also a bar/restaurant. Chabanais, which is a 5 minute drive from us, also has numerous bars and cafes. However we do offer a family style evening meal, at a supplement, if you prefer. This will be prepared using fresh seasonal produce with vegetables from our garden.
There is a lounge for guests use at any time. There are games, TV and a wood burner for those colder afternoons and evenings when its nice to relax after a walk along the Vienne. WiFi is also available.
Bedroom 1
This room has a very comfortable king size double bed. There is also a large sofa. that converts to a small double bed which is ideal for children. There is a large screen TV that receives british or french tv as required by our guests. You also have the facility to make hot drinks at any time of the day. The bathroom (exclusive to this room) has a toilet, basin and shower and plenty of fluffly towels for guests use.
Bedroom 2
This room has a comfortable double bed. There is a large screen TV that receives british or french tv as required by our guests. You also have the facility to make hot drinks at any time of the day. The bathroom (exclusive to this room) has a toilet, basin and shower and plenty of fluffly towels for guests use. This room also has a desk (with electric sockets near) for guests using portable laptops etc.
Bedroom 3
This room has 2 comfortable single beds. You will have the facilities to make hot drinks at any time. Please note this room has shared bathroom facilities but is excellent for those looking for clean, very good value accommodation.
Hairdryers and electrical plug adapters are available for guests use.

Exideuil sur Vienne is 5 kilometres to the west of Chabanais.
Travelling from the Limoges direction you should continue on the N141 through Chabanais following the direction Angoulême N141. Around two kilometres after leaving Chabanais take the first exit on the roundabout signpost Exideuil D370. Follow the road into the village. A little after crossing the railway line you will see the baker and pharmacy on your left and the bar on your right.
Take the right turn by the bar signpost Chirac D165 (and La Coldebouye).
After the bridge across the river the road starts to climb and around 500 metres later you will see La Coldebouye. Parking is on the left hand side of the road behind the wall (opposite the small recycling area).
The house is a few more metres up the road – please be careful of traffic as you walk to the house.
Travelling from Angoulême direction follow the N141 signpost Limoges. Around 4 kilometres after driving through La Péruse you will come to a roundabout. Take the fourth exit signpost Exideuil D370 and then follow the instructions above.
Travelling from Confolens direction take the D948 signpost Limoges. After around 12 kilometres (after passing through Chabrac) take the right hand turn signpost Chabanais D29. After a further 6 kilometres you will be in Chabanais. At the junction turn right signpost Angoulême/Rochechouart N141. Continue to follow directions as if you are travelling from Limoges.
